Run # 525, 3rd May @ Nambee estate, near Rasa

December 8, 2025 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

Run-site: Nambee estate, near Rasa
Travel Time: a little over an hour
Date: Sunday 3rd May, 2026
Hares: Leo Mcleod
Co-Hare: Aenea Brown
Registration: 1:20 onwards
Run Starts at: 2:00 pm

Please sign in when you arrive:

  • Members please remember to mark the registration sheet.
  • Guests fill in kids’ details (plus a phone number) on the guest sheet, and pay the guest fees of RM10 per kid.

and PLEASE remember to sign out when you get back from the trail, so we know that nobody is lost. It’s very tempting to jump straight into the stream when you get back, and sit there for three hours, but please sign out first!

As usual, we will have hot-dogs after the run, and drinks for the young and the old, so don’t forget to bring some change.

Directions

The parking is near a small Hindu temple, set among the buildings of a long-abandoned palm oil estate, close to a river.
So we park at the top, and then you can walk forward and follow the track left down to a river crossing, where we plan to set up the registration desk, hotdog/drinks stall and do the circle.

As with most run-sites, it’s easy to get there if you let Waze or Google Maps help you navigate.

The last 3.5km of the driving route, after leaving the main road and passing Rasa Chinese Cemetery, is only partly on tarmac, but it’s really good now.

If you click one of these icons, it will direct you all the way to the run-site:

Run # 524, 5th April – Easter Egg Hunt @ Hulu Tamu waterfall

December 8, 2025 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

This will be our Easter run, with an Easter Egg Hunt and plenty of chocolate!

It might also be our Hari Raya celebration – to be determined …

Run-site: Hulu Tamu – the end of the road, near Hulu Tamu Waterfall
Travel Time: definitely a bit more than an hour
Date: Sunday 5th April, 2026
Hares: Dylan Waring
Co-hares: Renshaw family
Registration: 1:20 onwards
Run Starts at: 2:00 pm

This run-site is a camp-site, so we have to pay RM10 per car – please pay that at the Junior Hash registration desk when you sign in, as well as any guest fees payable.

The positive from that is that, as well as a lovely river right next to the parking area, there are toilets and shower cubicles – luxury!

Please sign in when you arrive.

  • Members please remember to mark the registration sheet.
  • Guests (all welcome – just turn up!) fill in kids’ details (plus a phone number) on the guest sheet, and pay the guest fees of RM10 per kid.

and PLEASE remember to sign out when you get back from the trail, so we know that nobody is lost. It’s very tempting to jump straight into the stream when you get back, and sit there for three hours, but please sign out first!

There will be a long trail, exactly 4km, and a shorter trail of 2km. The short trail is a loop, and the extension for the long trail is an out-and-back path (1km each way) to a beautiful waterfall. The trail is very easy, so there’s no reason not to go all the way to the waterfall!

On the trail, there will be some pretend (paper) Easter eggs hidden, for kids (not adults!) to find, and then swap for real chocolate when you get back to the run-site. Don’t worry – there’s plenty of chocolate for everyone!

As usual, we will have hot-dogs after the run, and drinks for the young and the old, so don’t forget to bring some cash.

Directions

Coordinates: 3.456644, 101.710800 (3Β°27’23.9″N, 101Β°42’38.9″E)
To reach this run site, you go through Hulu Tamu village, take a turn or two, and continue to the end of the road, where there is some parking along the road or on a flat (and sometimes muddy) bit of land by the river.

Hares: Aenea Brown and friendly tigers, and possibly leprechauns

Then find the Junior Hash registration desk and sign in:

  • Members please remember to mark the registration sheet.
  • Guests fill in kids’ details (plus a phone number) on the guest sheet, and pay the guest fees of RM10 per kid.

Start by taking your preferred route towards Ulu Yam Baru or Batang Kali, which is approximately 35Km (about an hour) from KL or PJ, depending on your start location.

The route has a few turns through the Kampung so please use Waze or Google Maps – just type in ‘2K Hotspring campsite’ to either App, and it will take you directly to the campsite.

The last part is a good quality single track road, so normal clearance cars will have no problems.
There are 2K campsite signs when you’re close.

There is plenty of parking at the campsite but please be mindful of non-hash campers who may also be using the campsite.

Run # 522, 8th February – CNY @ Ulu Rening

December 8, 2025 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

Happy Chinese New Year! (nearly)

Note that this run will be on the second Sunday of the month, because of the public holiday(s) at the beginning of February.
From March we will be back to normal – the first Sunday.

Special CNY Meal

We are organising catered food on site: Chinese style (obviously πŸ™‚ ), but halal and with options for vegetarians, so delicious for all!

Thanks to all those who registered online!
Registration for the meal has closed, but come along for the run & celebration anyway, and we may have extra food for a few additional hungry mouths πŸ™‚

Cost for food:

  • Member kids who have paid their subs for 2026: Free (but still need to register online)
  • Non-member kids: RM30 (RM10 guest fee + RM20 food)
  • Adults: RM30

Yes, you can renew or start your kids’ membership on the day, and you can pay via the registration form if you like.

Run site

Run-site: Dusun Ayah Heritage camp-site at Ulu Rening, in the Genting Valley and a few km past Batang Kali
Travel Time: probably a little over an hour
Date: Sunday 8th February, 2026
Hares: Guan Chen (first time Junior Hash hare, but plenty of experience with PH3)
Registration: 1:20 onwards
Run Starts at: 2:00 pm

This is our Chinese New Year run, so wear red, bring ear plugs, and look for red packets (kids only!).

If you want to bring tables/chairs/plates/… that will enhance your meal and save on disposable plates/cutlery.

We’ll be at one of our favourite run-sites, with a spacious lawn next to a calm little river to cool down in. It’s a private camp-site, so please have RM5 ready to pay for parking.

You can also rent a tube for playing in the river, for RM10 – please make sure your kids know that you need to pay before borrowing them.

If you would like to camp there (quite cheap), please contact the site directly – you can WhatsApp to Effa on 019 926 6461. You can see more details at fb.com/effaryanstore.

If you want to stay overnight but don’t fancy camping, there are other chalets, home-stays and eco-resorts in the Ulu Rening area . They vary from cheap & simple chalets to posh chalets (e.g. Huda’s Haven), to secluded mansions that sleep 10 and have private swimming pools.

Registration (sign in and sign out)

Members please remember to mark the registration sheet. And if you missed January’s run, please remember to renew your membership – RM120 for the year.

Guests fill in kids’ details (plus a phone number) on the guest sheet, and pay the guest fees of RM10 per kid.

For renewals, if you prefer to pay by bank transfer before the run (to CIMB account number 8007783962), please show us the payment confirmation or email it to onsec@kljhhh.org.

If you’re interested in joining (which brings multiple benefits, apart from a free CNY meal), talk to a committee member.

EVERYONE (members and guests) must also sign out AFTER the run, so we know that nobody is lost. It’s very tempting to jump straight into the stream when you get back, and sit there for three hours, but please sign out first!

Directions

The run-site coordinates are approximately 3.4903,101.693637

When you arrive, please park considerately and pay the parking fee (RM5) to the camp-site reception before finding the Junior Hash registration desk.

The Waze link below should take you right to the run-site, but Google Maps doesn’t seem to know the little roads:

Run # 521, 11th January @ Batangsi

December 8, 2025 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

Happy New Year!

Note that our first two runs of 2026 will be on the second Sunday of the month.
From March we will be back to normal – the first Sunday.

Run-site: Sungei Batangsi
Travel Time: probably about an hour
Date: Sunday 11th January, 2026
Hares: Louise Race & family
Registration: 1:00 onwards – registration may take longer than usual because of membership renewals, so allow plenty of time
Run Starts at: 2:00 pm

We were here almost exactly a year ago, and if you joined us, you’ll remember descending to a fantastic stream/waterfall where we relaxed and played for a while.
The trails are slightly different this time, with a 3km short trail and 6km long trail, but both converge on the waterfall.

There is also a stream running past the run-site – good for cooling off in when we get back.

As usual, we will have hot-dogs after the run, and drinks for the young and the old, so don’t forget to bring some change.

Registration & Membership Renewal

Unlike last month’s Christmas party, there is no need to pre-register for our normal runs – members & guests can just turn up and sign in at our registration desk.

  • Renewing members just mark the registration sheet, and also pay RM120 to renew and check/update details on the Renewal form
  • New members fill in a New Member form and pay RM120 (annual membership) + RM10 (registration) = RM130
  • Guests must fill in kids’ details (plus a phone number) on the guest sheet, and pay the guest fees of RM10 per kid.

If you prefer to pay by bank transfer before the run (to CIMB account number 8007783962), please show us the payment confirmation or email it to onsec.kljhhh@gmail.com (our onsec@kljhhh.org account sometimes blocks emails for no reason).

If you’re interested in joining (which brings multiple benefits), talk to a committee member.

EVERYONE (members and guests) must also sign out AFTER the run, so we know that nobody is lost. It’s very tempting to jump straight into the stream when you get back, and sit there for three hours, but please sign out first!

Directions

Coordinates: 3.016235, 101.875244

The links below contain those precise coordinates, but you need to take the right fork about 100 metres before the destination that Waze or Maps direct you to.

icon-googlemap

icon-waze

This site can be reached via Semenyih (for most people) or via Hulu Langat (for people coming from the East side of town), so there are two ways to approach it.

If coming through Semenyih town, from the Kajang direction, turn left onto the B19 Jalan Sungai Lalang, and set your tripmeter to zero.
After 8.1km turn right and cross the bridge.
After 8.3km turn left.
Follow the road along the side of the fishing lake.
After 8.9km turn right.
After 9.4km take a fork right into the runsite.

If coming from the crossroads in Hulu Langat, head South/East on the B116 Jalan Sungei Tekali for about 10.7 km, until you hit a t-junction just before Semenyih reservoir.
Turn right onto the B19 Jalan Sungei Lalang and set your tripmeter to zero.
After 11.1km turn left and cross the bridge.
After 11.3km turn left.
Follow the road along the side of the fishing lake.
After 11.9km turn right.
After 12.4km take a fork right into the runsite.

There’s plenty of space, but please park neatly, close to the other hash cars.
