August is often a quiet month for the junior hash, with many people away, so we’d love to see you if you’re still in town!
And you don’t even need to drive far – this run is in one of the few green lungs within the city, nestled between KL and PJ. Bukit Gasing doesn’t look very large on a map, but it has lots of trails and plenty of space to set a good run – or to get lost if you forget to follow paper.
There is no stream at the run-site, but we will cross some streams on the trail, so plenty of opportunity to cool hot feet or dogs (yes, this is a dog-friendly area, if they’re well behaved).
Please sign in when you arrive:
- Members please remember to mark the registration sheet.
- Guests fill in kids’ details (plus a phone number) on the guest sheet, and pay the guest fees of RM10 per kid.
and PLEASE remember to sign out when you get back from the trail, so we know that nobody is lost.
There are lots of cheeky monkeys at this site, so our options were to make monkey-meat hot-dogs or switch to something else that they won’t steal. We chose to switch to bagels, with crwam cheese and salmon – tasty!
Plus drinks for the young and the old, as usual, so don’t forget to bring some cash.
Directions
We are using the main car park on the West (PJ) side, on Jalan Tanjong 5/4, not far from Jalan Gasing.
Just ask Waze or Google Maps to take you to ‘Bukit Gasing Carpark’, and don’t be worried that they think it’s on Jalan 5/61 – they will still take you to the right place.
The car park should have plenty of space for us, especially as sane people don’t go hiking in the middle of the day 🙂
It also has a toilet and running water – luxury!
On On!
