Run # 444 – 6th May for Mothers Day @ old Nambi Estate, near Rasa

April 22, 2018 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

Venue: Old Nambi Estate, near Rasa, Selangor
Travel Time: 75 – 90 minutes
Date: Sunday 6th May, 2018
Registration: 14:15 – 14:45
Run Starts at: 15:00
Hare: Oakley family

Rumour has it that a couple of families will camp out on the Saturday night.  If anyone is keen to join them do let us know (e.g. via Facebook) in advance, so they don’t get scared by noises in the night!

Cold drinks and hotdogs (halal – made from premium Victoria Crest sausages) will be available.

Directions:
GPS: GPS: 3.490858, 101.666389 or 3°29’27.35″N 101°39’58.53″E

But do not simply head straight for those GPS coordinates, or you might end up on a long track from Batang Kali – go via Rasa Chinese Cemetary.

Google map here

WAZE:

“RASA CHINESE CEMETERY”
will take you to the gravel road where you can then follow hash signs

WAZE: Open in Waze

In case of any small changes on the day, follow the usual yellow bunny hash signs.

For traditionalists, you could follow the directions below (there are also good alternatives, e.g. past Batu Caves and up the new Rawang bypass, or via the N-S highway to Bukit Beruntung):

From KL Head North on NKVE and Exit 117 for Sungei Buaya / Serendah.
Reset Trip Meter at Toll

350m Turn left onto Route 1208
Go straight (winding road) for just over 2km until you reach traffic lights
Turn right at the lights, towards Serendah/Rawang
Drive straight for about 3km, passing the Perodua factory, and keep in the left lane as you approach the old highway 1 at Sungei Choh.
Approx 7km: turn left at traffic lights onto route 1, towards Serendah / KKB / Ipoh
26km (just after bridge and road sign to Rasa on left) Turn Right, following hash signs onto gravel road at cemetery.

Follow Hash signs for a further 3.6km, to the run-site.

P.S. Mother’s Day is the following Sunday, 13th May, but we think all the mummies would love a tranquil jungle experience this weekend!

Run # 443 – 1st April egg hunt @ Sungei Batangsi, near Semenyih

March 18, 2018 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

Venue: Sungei Batangsi, Ulu Semenyih, Selangor
Travel Time: 60 to 75 minutes
Date: Sunday 1st April 2018 (April Fools’ Day / Easter Sunday)
Registration: 14:15 – 14:45
Run Starts at: 15:00
Hare: Nikolai Wilson

In April we always have an Easter Egg hunt (after the run), so get your little bunny noses twitching and ready to sniff out some chocolate!

As usual, cold drinks and hotdogs (halal – made from premium Victoria Crest sausages) will be available.

 Directions:

The run-site is off Jalan Sungei Lalang (B19), which goes from Semenyih town towards Nirvana memorial park (this road continues past Sungei Tekala to Hulu Langat, but our directions assume you’re coming from Semenyih).

If you reach Nirvana, you’ve gone about 1km too far!

Google Maps

Wazers click here on your mobile

Or search Waze for “Amsupply Sdn Bhd”, which will get you almost all the way there – just follow the bunny signs once you’re off the main road (B19).

The best way to Semenyih depends on where you’re coming from in KL/PJ, but here are example directions:

  • Get onto the North–South Expressway E2 heading South
  • Take the exit towards Cheras Sentral / Tmn Len Sen
  • Follow signs for E7 Cheras–Kajang Expressway to Kajang / Seminyih
  • Follow signs to Johor Bahru
  • Take exit towards Kajang/Seremban/Pekan bt. 11 Cheras
  • Turn left onto Jalan Sungai Long
  • Take left lane to E18 ramp to Kajang Silk/ KLIA / Semenyih / Putrajaya / Seremban
  • Take exit 1804A-Kajang Perdana toward route 1 / Seminyih / e21 / Seremban
  • Use left lane to route 1 ramp to Rinching / Semenyih
  • Turn left onto Jalan 1, heading into Semenyih town
  • Turn left onto Jalan Sungai Lalang / B19 (big sign-board for Nirvana) and set your trip-meter
  • Drive around 7.7km (about 100m after ‘Pekan Bt 18 – 29km’ milestone) until you see yellow bunny signs
    • (if you reach the Nirvana entrance, turn round and drive back approximately 1km)
  • Turn right, cross the bridge and follow yellow bunny signs to the run-site.

The road is good for all vehicles – you just need to keep your eyes open so you don’t drive through a few pot-holes.

As always, bring a change of clothes & shoes, and either bring money for drinks/hotdogs or come with your own picnic.

Run # 442 – It’s March already. 4th March @ Sg.Dua Waterfall Karak, Pahang

February 26, 2018 by hashadmin Leave a Comment

Another new run site for us to explore…

Its a great spot and located just a short walk away is a stunning water fall…we’re doing our best to get the run to take in the waterfall or possibly finish there.  The logistics of getting hotdogs and cold beer down to waterfall is one we’re still trying to figure out:)

WhatsApp Image 2018-02-25 at 12.04.34 PM (1)Either way its worth a visit and either way there is still a nice river next to the run site so bring swimmers.

Venue: Sg.Dua Waterfall Karak, Pahang
Travel Time: 75 – 90 minutes
Date: Sunday 4th March 2018
Registration: 14:15 – 14:45
Run Starts at: 15:00
Hare: Lai
Co-Hare: Areya Drew

Cold drinks and hotdogs (halal – made from premium Victoria Crest sausages) will be available.

 Directions:

Google Maps

WAZE: Sg.Dua Waterfal

In case of any small changes on the day, follow the usual yellow bunny hash signs.

Or easy to follow written instructions.

From KL take the Karak highway E8 and drive towards Karak.

About 42 km after the first toll in KL, arrive at the Bentong toll-gate.

Set the trip meter to zero at the Bentong toll.

14.5 km: Turn off the highway at Exit 813A sign-posted PUSPEN KARAK
When you drive down the slipway, you are in Kampung Cinta Manis.

14.8 km: at the bottom of the exit slipway turn right and go through the tunnel under the highway
Immediately after the tunnel turn right again (effectively a U-turn) and go back on the highway (E8) in the direction of KL

16.1 Km Drive slowly on the highway and keep left. At KP 75.4, exit the highway. This is not an official exit, so keep a close watch.

Climb up a steep slope branching off to the left. After 100 m at the top of the climb, follow hairpin turn right and double back, down the slope and follow the tarmac road.

17 km Cross a bridge, follow tarmac road through a Kampung. The river is on your left hand side.

The road starts to climb after you pass the kampung.

19.3 km You’ll hit another small kampung. Turn immediately left over  a bridge.  Follow the signs to the local community centre where will set up.
