If you’ve ever driven East on the Karak highway / LPT (e.g. to the East coast) then you’ll have seen this little R&R before Bentong. And if you’ve stopped here, then you’ll know there’s a picnic area by a pretty stream that climbs up the hills to the South.
There are car parks and forest trails on both sides of the highway, plus a tunnel connecting the two sides. We will be parking and running on the South side (i.e. on the right as you’re driving towards Kuantan), so we will drive under the highway to reach the runsite.
As usual, we will have cold drinks on sale, plus hot dogs (made with premium Victoria Crest sausages).
All are welcome, including non-members (‘guests’), who can just turn up and go to our registration desk, to sign in and pay the guest fee of RM10 per kid.
It’s essential for everyone (members and guests) to sign in before the run and sign out after the run, so we know that nobody is lost.
As with most run-sites, it’s easy to get there if you let Waze or Google Maps help you navigate.
And with this site, you just need to search for “Lentang Recreational Forest”, which is right off the highway – no little roads to worry about this month.
If you miss the Lentang turn-off, you’ll need to wait for a junction with a U-turn – you will pass a new Shell petrol station soon after, and then a Petronas station, before you get to a suitable junction.
Once you get there, follow our yellow bunny signs and look for junior hashers – this area is also popular with ‘normal’ people.
